Traditionally we have got things together at the Club on Good Friday each year. Generally, for those who haven't been before, we try and get all the furniture out, picket fencing in place, the bar area all straight as well as the kitchen, changing rooms and pretty much everything else.
To try and aid the whole process we have signed up to the Nat West Cricket Force scheme which formalises the whole process and makes it more transparent. As part of the scheme, Jewsons offer a limited number of clubs an account with them to supply materials for the various tasks we are undertaking, so if we are one of the few, they will give us £300 towards the costs.
This year Good Friday falls on the 25th March, which ties in quite nicely with the forthcoming season and the arrival of Cricket Time, or British Summer Time as its more commonly referred to, on Easter Sunday.
Nearer the day we will draw up a list of jobs that need doing, ones that would be nice to get done and possibly a few less important but perhaps things that enhance the atmosphere at the Club and make the whole place a great area to spend time in.
As they say, "many hands make light work", so we hope to see you there on the 25th March.
